Today would be my first day in Singapore after staying in WuHan for 6 weeks...
Though this is my homeland, i seems to be missing WuHan.

Singapore is hot.. food here is more expensive when convert the SGD here to RMB after purchase lunch.. no more free flow of rice.. not anymore.
But the air and environment are cleaner and green, traffic on roads are more organised where the drivers here are more courteous.

Went out for dinner with my secondary school friends..
we ate at Plaza Singapura, Sakae.
Guess what.. i saw someone familiar.
OIP Ngee Ann Lecturer from the REB side.. hahax..
gave him my greetings and.. he saw me before that what he said.
Went back home with them with a full stomach. ( i ask for another bowl of rice there )

While back at home, on MSN i saw quite a number of OIP peep miss China - WuHan
that's include me as well..
Should i say that although Singapore have all the good quality where China lack, but cant let fellow Singaporean miss home dearly where away in overseas.. or is it we took things for granted.

Anyway, the stay in WuHan has greatly affect our life as most of us were first time to land our foot in China and spends the days together with friends.. despite all conflict that we might have or grudges towards each other.. all this has become a memory.

Although our weekdays are very boring due to the timetable we had..
Study Study Study and Study.. We would try to make our day enjoyable by having some mini exploration around the school or out of campus.

Comparing the life of local Singaporeans and the chinese in China - WuHan.
Singaporean's life are more fortunate despite the fast pace lifestyle, the chinese have to earn their livelihood through a hard way.. all this can be observe and through conversation with them.

It a good thing that i had signed up for this OIP.
Gain lots of stuff through this trip especially new friends and to our eyes
an eye-opener experience.

Finally !!
the last day we will be in China, Wu Han
it would be the one of the happiest moment to some of the ECE peeps

As for myself..
i will definitely miss this place.
the weather..
food...
some friendly locals..
the pace of their lifestyle which is slow unlike in Singapore

All of us got to wake up early to weight our luggage
by the weighting machine borrowed from Ryan, one of the co-coordinator.

Lots of stuff needed to bring home..
for friends..
family..
relative..
or just simply..
own beloved belongings..

after all the necessary preparation
we gather all our luggage to the bus...
heading to the domestic airport..

on the bus

pure fish meat fresh fish ball..
will 100% miss this.

for an hour plus or so..
we reach the airport..

with the rest of our group separated to had lunch..

an hour flight and we reached Guang Zhou..
its a rush for us to change from the transit to this flight..
we don't even have the time to take away for our dinner =(
hope the plane's dinner would be good.

sad too say that Kenneth's anime figuring all are been confiscated by the security checkpoint..
all those limited figuring...
he was real sad..
all this figuring are for his older brother..
with all the excitement waiting at home would turn into disappointment..

though still not really full..
but there's no food left.

Had no choice to woke up early to go to Han Kou
to collect the picture frame
which is made customised to fit our 3d picture that we bought 2days ago..

Only Yu Lun and i went there to collect..
Critopher who was the other owner of the frame cant wake up..
Ernest and Xin Rong both who wanted to shop
also cant wake up
together with Yu Lun we took a cab there and collected our frame.

There's quite a disappointment for the frame..
the big one.
it was not nicely done as it is more expensive then the smaller frame..
but for the smaller frame.
Splendid.
Beautifully Done.

After all the nessary last last min shopping we had..
we took a cab back to campus and to get ready for the ECE Group Photo Session.

Woke up late today.. around 1.00pm plus..
with Xin Rong & Jia He sleeping beside me
where Ernest sleeping in the empty Mr Ma room..

Ernest woke up earlier then us & went to Lu Xiang Guan Chang to meet up with the usual to do their last shopping.

While myself lazily rest on the bed doing nothing...
a blank mind and enjoying the cooling weather
been a long long time since i have done that in Singapore.

Went out to had lunch with Xin Rong, Jia He, Zhi Hui, Cristopher and Dave.
After that.. went back bunk to slack...
A lazy day.

Packed up luggage abit..
so that when doing some last minute packing up would be much easier.
slowly pack till the rest came back.

Heard that the firework was postpone to tomorrow due to the heavy downpour..
sad.

Had a late night party downstairs at Kenneth, Shu Gen bunk..
played some games till 4.00am plus and went to sleep first...
The party officially ended at 8am in the morning.

SHOPPING AGAIN !!!!

Yea! gathering time is at 9.30am and had a quick breakfast at usual canteen2 with the usuals.

Hired a mini van to our destination...
While on our journey there..
we got to went through a narrow path which is not for vehicles usage..
but.. when we were going to go through the path..
another vehicle from the opposite direction wanted to pass through the narrow path.
As there were other vehicle at the back and moreover the opposite direction vehicle..
we are stuck in a jam.

The conflict begins when the opposite direction driver drove his car can bang on our van.
Out driver immediately rush out to take a look at the damage.
Heated augment started, when suddenly our driver just open our passenger door and took out a huge screw driver from his tool box and start hitting the driver shoulder heavily..

The violent scene was brought to an end by the passer-by separating them.
After the driver had cool down and called the police..
he came to ask us to transfer to a Taxi to get to our destination without payment..
but we paid him half of the fare.

Took a cab to our destination and SHOPPING !!!!

Spent 600 Rmb which is i lent from Ernest.
I shop like there is no tomorrow... hahax.
i'm amazed by myself too..
bought a pouch and a shirt for myself and the rest are for family and friends.

Before separate our ways as some of our groupo wanted to shop more..
we had SOUP BUN AGAIN!!!! WOOOOTT !!
It taste heavenly. Cant find it in Singapore Chinese Restaurant or Dim Sum Restaurant.
What more.
IT IS CHEAP !!!

Went back to campus for dinner..
i head back bunk to get some rest furst so i didnt join the rest to PlayBoy to shop.
Anyway.. i got no money to shop either..

Four Days Remaining.

Time: 2.00am

Stomach status : Hungry.
People in bunk : Ernest , Jit Siong , Xin Rong , Jia He , Stephen

Activity: Maggie Mee party.

Flavour : Chicken.

We're like a pack of hungry wolfs...
I cook the noodles as usual and we ate it like... 5 mins
finish it up within an hour a full pack of noodles consist of 5 pack of noodles

The party last till 4.00am.. everyone was sleepy..
When i was going to sleep Xin Rong ask me in Msn if anyone watching the Sun Rise..
during that time Ernest was already asleep..
since i wanted to see the sun rise and found someone to accompany.. i agreed

So we decided to meet at 5.15am at Xin Rong bunk.

i keep myself awake by reading some online manga (comic) till 5.00am..
when it near 5.15am, i nudge Xin Rong on Msn alot of times.. spam.
with all the perserverence on nudging him..
finally i got a reply from.... Zhi Hui, Xin Rong's room mate.
Zhi Hui told me that Xin rong has already fall asleep..
So i told him that i going down in few mins time.

Went over to his bunk to wake Xin Rong up and prepare to watch sun rise
we invited Zhi Hui too..

i'm quite excited because Ernest didn't come along...
it is a good time to gauge my photography skills without the guidance of Ernest

We went to the highest point of WUST.
Time : 5.50am

To kill time...

After awhile Xin Rong shouted THE SUN !!!
For the first time we saw sun rise in China.

Mini Project interview today..
did some last touch up enhancement on my program.
and had lunch with the usual at the usual canteen2.

After lunch, we proceed to our class room to set up our laptop and prepare to present to Mr. Ma
My project programme is design to be use in vending machines.. elaborate how my programme would work to Mr Ma and end of my interview~

went back to bunk and took a little nap till dinner time.
had our dinner outside school the same place where we had on tuesday night.

Ho yea.. Sebastian group going to An Hui tomorrow
so he brought over his group's Singapore Maggie mee to us to help him finish it up.

Dinner~
The food streets sell quite a number of food but all was oily and spicy.
My favourite dish for this dinner was grilled squid with sauce which is not spicy
it was introduce by Kenneth, he said that this store is newly open.
well.. it does not matter is the store is newly open anot..
what matter is that the food is NICE !!!
the squid taste heavenly.. and quite addictive..
the tender of the squid is just nicely done..
Very different to those in Singapore..
unlike Old Chang Kee which is deep fried squid
what more is that the squid is way more CHEAPER~!

after a wonderful dinner, we went to the nearby shop to shop for souviners..
Hey~ that right. SOUVINERS!!

*those who reading this in singapore... please dont get too excited.. you might not have any..*

Went back bunk and rest for the day...

Had a good night rest after an adventurous day.
woke up quite late today as there's no more classes
had lunch with the usual clique at the usual canteen2
slack at bunk..
trying to complete my mini project.

till..
Xin Rong ask me if i would like to join them to Guan Gu Guang Chang 光谷广厂
they wanted to had their hair cut
but actual infact
they want me to lead them to the hair salon where i had my hair
PERM!!

i agreed to go with them
with my newly made spec.

when we reach the salon
i saw my hair washer standing at the door there..
should be taking a break i think..

when she saw me..
she was quite happy and smile at me
and we entered the salon..
saw the 店长 manager of the shop.

he wave and smile at me.. hahax
i'm easy to be recongise
always with a bright orange outershell
which i've borrow from a friend back in Singapore

Time for an mini makeover..

Jia He - had his hair dyed and hair cut by the 店长
Zhi Hui - Rebond his hair and trim by an...unknown hair dresser
as for me..
i would just sit there and wait

after 2hours with Xin Rong had his hair cut
and shop around with him

Jia He had his hair completed.
he look smart
after sawing his newly done hair with nice colour
he tempted both Xin Rong and i...
with much struggling, consideration
and keep saying about my many strands of white hair
we decided to dye our hair too..
its quite cheap..

cheaper as in having hair dyed in salon..
and so..
i had completed the wholepackage of my hair make over..
Permed / Rebond + Hair dyed + Hair Cut

First hand experience on alot of things in China..
espically on my hair..

Adventure Activity at WUST

Today would be the best day during of all the weekdays..
WEEKDAYS ARE SO BORING !!!!

okay.. time to report was 8am at the so called ' park ' beside the campus.
but due to tiredness.. we woke up a little late..

because our campus is so near to the activity area
we were scared that the other group students from MDE & LSCT
would reach before we did..
so we had a take away breakfast..
eat while we walk~

Luckily that they have not reach before us
so we did some stupid stuff among our self for pure entertainment.

During the long period of waiting
the in-charge of today's activity gathered us and played some games.
forfeits are inevitable..

so we played till the other group reach.
The main activity begins
by sorting out people into groups of 4

for my group which include us ECE and MDE and LSCT peeps..
all mixture like Singapore's rojak.

Since we were been spread into groups
name and cheers/motto are next

So.. sitting around in a circle
name to suggest for our groups
and of course.. i gave my idea
' PERM '
as our group name
Well.. they do know that i have done something to my hair..
it's feels weird when people know you or your name
but yourself does not even know him/her.

Okay..
so the name was later change to
' ALFRO '
motto: ' Alfro think it's possible '
*something like that..*

We're also given a flag, 2 maker and 2 paper
we got to design our flag..
so.. with all the Eye power shining on me...
i got no choice but to draw. =x

A day with no morning class , afternoon class still on.

actually i wanted to attend the optional 9am morning class but...
we are too tired
so.. as expected both Ernest and i woke up late
and waited for the rest to call us for lunch + breakfast.

Meet up the rest for lunch..
for the first time
Mr Chua join us for lunch
he follow the crowd and ordered fried rice
afterwards Ernest and i together with Siew Bo
went over to the school's Spectacle shop
Ernest wanted to make a pair of new spec
after so much of ' should i.... should i '
in the end..
i'm the one who made a pair of new spec
which cost me 280 Rmb - cheap China's transition lens + frame
and rush back bunk as we're late for the afternoon class.

during the class
Mr Chua took over Mr Ma as he was away in Tian Jing for APPG.
He revise with us
and really want us to do well for the upcoming test on Wednesday.

The class ended quite fast and we go back bunk by the WUST Adventure Slope Trail.
its was fun.

Had dinner and doing our mini project
as tomorrow 7th april 09
we had an Outdoor Adventure Day
as such to outward bound activity during secondary school
might be too exhausted to do any work.

The day begins with a bright sunny sky, good weather to do some shopping!!

today Ernest didnt tag along, the rest of us woke up early so can prepare for the shoping later but.. he woke up at 2pm..

it shows that in here, China, they have this similar activity like in Singapore

There are quite a handful of people at the door of the bus waiting to donate their blood
now, the problem is that...
the needles that been used for the blood donation.
do they do the same practice as in Singapore
which is used & throw needles
or
used and recycle the needles
where the word recycle seem to be more Eco friendly.

i personally think that they are more Eco friendly than in Singapore.

we were guided to wash our hair by the ' hair washer '
not sure of the names..
but they are sure still a beginner base on my instinct..

After washing our hair we go back and sat on the chair
as there was not enough man power, the salon was quite crowded
we need to wait for a few mins.

my ' hair washer ' asked me if i mind for the manager of the shop, 店长
to service me with an additional 10 yuan.

without much consideration i replied a OKAY~
well.. 10 yuan is less than SGD $2.50
and you get the manager to cut your hair
ITs A GREAT DEAL !!

He has near 8 years of experience in hair styling..
started as a newly hair washer assistance.

Finally back to APPG !!
Sweet.. class start at 9am. Weeee~

woke up with a funny dream.
i dream about.. Ernest farting.. OH MY GOD!!
he fart so much and loud that i had phobia of this dangerous FARTER.
And also we gave him a title : God Of Shit.
HE SHIT 5 TIMES A DAY !!!!

Now i shall give him the title : Fart King...
gosh.. air in China is already dusty plus his own natural gas..
i'm glad that i'm still alive...

Gotta woke up at 7am again for the 8am IS class..
tired... *yawn*
Morning class for today was continue from yesterday topic " Chinese Traditional Thoughts "
The head of Foreign Language School will be talking about Taoism and Buddhism, an another 4hours of lecture.
When its near the end of the lecture, the last 40 mins, i rest my head down and fall asleep, i was awake by the applause that the class made.

That the end of morning IS class.

I skip lunch due to stomachache and head back bunk first to relive myself, and took a nap till Ernest and Yu Lun woke me up for afternoon2pm class.

We get to experience the local student how they study, with a head set and a mic attach to it and the lecturer in front teaching with his mic and head set on, its hard to imagine now and sorry for no photograph for that.

" Chinese Wedding & Feng Shui " topic for this afternoon lecture, IS again.
It covers on Chinese wedding , Chinese Table Manners and lastly Feng Shui of course.
Chinese wedding in China is similar to Singapore one, not saying about traditional wedding procedure.
Chinese Table Manners, Chinese main eating tool : Chopstick. It amazing that how Chinese including myself to be able to eat with just 2 stick between our index finger and thumb, with the whole hand as it mechanism.

3 don't when using the chopstick:

don't place the chopstick unevenly
don't pay with chopstick
don't point at others with the chopstick

Pointing at other with chopstick is very rude in the eyes of elders, it would seems that the parent did not do a good job in teaching the child.

That what my parents told me when i just started to use chopstick and use it the correctly.

As for the Feng Shui, it mention about the bedroom setting and colours representing element - metal, wood, water, fire and earth, how it would affect you if all the arrangement are done properly.

Class finally ended and head back to bunk.
Guess wat..
Our celling got a beam across the bed room, which is consider a bad feng shui.

The lecturer did mention about bad feng shui would cause you to have bad rest at night..

IS module for the morning class, by the head of this Foreign Language School which we're in now.
He speak good english, i could understand everyword that he is speaking unlike other Lecturer we had for our previous IS, no wonder he's the head of this school.

Okay. A brand new day with brand new challenge and experience.

Yet another day with APPG~
That the only module we took here other than IS module.

After completing the Lab6, Lab7 was already there waiting us to be friend with her.
LAB7.............. was really hard to understand, i keep myself awake in order to catch what Mr Ma was teaching.

So the class ended with more white hair...
*i was hopping all my hair turn white so that i don't need to dye my hair white*

Meal time is always the happiest moment here, we ate 'Zhu Chao' for dinner.
We order 7 dishes consist of 2meat , 2 soup and 3 vegetables (2dishes are are same).

This dinner was splendid, the ingredient today were fresh and all of us loves the onions, it's fresh and crunchy.

You are what you eat.

Ernest ate lots of onions and many more.......
All his end product were really distinguishable...
Even if i'm a cat, 9 lives are not enough.

Oh ya!
Dave was much better though he look a little pale.

Time now is past 12am. 1st of April.
Msn messenger pop out a new friend whom i've made during the flight from Singapore to China, Li Zhen.

She asked if my flight back to Singapore was bring forward and so the conversation goes on...
main point was that she mention of her flight was bring forward to 10th April 09 and i belive in her.

Guess what. IT's APRIL FOOL !!! my expression was like.... -.-
Everything was a fake, fall into her April Fool trick.

OH YEA~~
APPG start at 10am today~ ho ho ho..

Had a very good night rest and feel quite refreshing as the morning shine.

Okay. We did lab6 for APPG the whole day, it was damn difficult, all my hair are turning white.
as the class end for the day, we had a very quick dinner in campus at the usual canteen2.

Rather then going back to bunk, i went to the clique dorm where Kenneth, Cris, Jia Hui, Shu Gen is and later part of the night Ernest join us. We did Lab6 together, though it quite tedious but with all of us putting all the bits and pieces together, we finally completed Lab6. Great sense of accomplishment is in each of us.

At the same time when we heard about Dave got food poisoning and was admitted to the school's clinic. All of us were stun, " OH MY GOD " expression can be seen on their faces and of course, at much later time we ask Jermey about Dave status.

Hmm.. what might cause this?
Well, i suppose that everyone would assume that the cause of Dave food poisoning would be the BBQ's food from yesterday.
The posibility are there, but how come only him got food poisoning...
Maybe he got a weak stomach, or ate too much raw food.
It still best to eat food that is cooked or slightly burned in BBQ to avoid this kind of situation happening.

Still... it's good to see everyone is in good health after the BBQ and hope that Dave will get better tomorrow.

to buy a mp4
and a tripod.

as we had a bbq interaction with the local student at 5.30pm sharp
we went back earlier and had a late lunch

we bought a total of 7 Mp4
each cost 235 Rmb - 4Gb
and theres a slot for micro SD card
quite cool eh!!

BBQ - Problem 1
No fire starter.
Oh My God.

This is the first BBQ that is a challenge to me..
need to start burn the charcoal.
collect dry grass, light the fire, blow and blow and blow
we even got a blowing team. hahax

though it would seems to be the worst bbq ever
but to me it's a very good experience
to experience how olden folks in china start their fire to cook

here comes the Problem 2:
NO LIGHTS
everything was in pitch darkness
and could not determind whether our food been cooked
luckily some of us brought torch light from Singapore.

yes, we did manage to START cooking at our pit

A Day in HanKou

The day begin with downpours and cold wind blowing~
Both Kenneth & I were hopping for snow though it is impossible, well we did say hope right?
The cold freezing morning was warm up by a cup of hot red tea, bring back by the clique from canteen2 while both Kenneth and i waiting for them at the entrance to see if our bus had arrived.

Waiting~After a short journey ride of around 2 hours
we REACH HaKou !!! woot!

from Han Kou Jiang Tan We had our lunch at ' Dicos '
Had a real bad experience there
and the food there does not taste good and the service is poor...

We does not have much choice due to the rain and hunger

We went to many shops along the streets but this shop which i think is the best

Love to go back and shop again~

A very different image especially with specs.

In China
if request for a carrier
an additional charge will impose on buying the carrier.

Normally for those supermarket thinner carrier cost 0.30Rmb
where in this shop where the carrier in a much better quilt cost 1Rmb.

This action is similar to Singapore first Wednesday of every month
where supermarkets such as NTUC fair-price will charge you if request for carrier
in which i think that here in China where this activity is on daily basis
which will reduce people in using carrier and save the environment

Industrial Visit 2

Today we will be having an industrial visit to Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Company and a theory test at 4pm...

Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Company
is one of the top 3 optic fibre listed company in the world and also the
Number One Optical Fibre company in China.

It's rare to see gasy drinks in this kind of package
back there in Singapore where most drink are in cans or plastic bottles.
These glass bottles are not allow to bring out of the canteen
As the drink store holder will came and collect back all these bottles and
return back to the factory to clean, refill it and back on to the market.

It's quite a good strategy in terms of reducing company expanditure
and helping in reducing waste material on Earth.

After lunch we went back to bunk to study for the theory test at 4pm later..
As i was tired
i took a short nap and revise those revision papers that i had done in the past 2 day
the Test was quite difficult but it still manageable.

Next, we had dinner and it rain quite heavily.
Though everyone was drench but we had a great time together~

Woke up in the morning as usual...

APPG was canceled and change to IS due to Mr Ma, he was feeling unwell..
Mr Chua took over the class and for the first time, i saw him being so serious about this IS module and warned that he can fail us if we didnt take this module seriously.
He said this because he saw some of us doing APPG rather then doing IS, no wonder he's unhappy.

After lunch, as Mr Ma felt better, we had APPG for afternoon class. He let us do one set of Theory test papers and gone through it an hour before class end.

Went back bunk after we had our dinner, check our new timetable for the coming semester.
Found out that those who went for this OIP trip are in the same class for next semester : 2b1, quite shocked after i heard about it...

Got to sleep early, theory test tomorrow~

Yet another day of APPG.

Both morning and afternoon classes are as usual as it can be.

The real fun start when the class ended, we went over to canteen3 to buy some pirated PC games and some videos such as the whole series of 007, anime and CSI series.

After getting what we want, we head back to bunk, but this time round we are a bit adventurous.

We explored another route back to bunk through the highest peak of the campus, the sky was very clear, a scenic view.

It's a pity that none of us had camera with us.

We keep on treaking till we saw our service appartment block from the high slope, without
any other choice other then backtrack we went down the slope.
The time for coming down was around 15mins, it's a very good experience for the rest of the clique as both Ernest and i were from the adventure club, doing adventure once in a while is sure a good activity.

Up next for dinner.
We went to the near by supermart to eat " 汤包 " (soup bun), one of the food that we wanted to try since the first day we step on China soil.

It's a disapointment that the bun was not really delicous as in those gormet show..
the soup in the bun here was little, the skin of the bun is not clear and worst of all it is oily and salty...

Got to search for other 汤包 shop...

After eating up all the 汤包, we cross over to the other side of the road and buy some other finger food, we are a pack of hungry wolf....

Kenneth bought a bowl of smelly beancurd.. had a taste of it, it do not seems to be that smelly as what we thought.

Bought some groceries and went back to campus to get a good night rest.

Today, i manage to wake up an hour eariler than usual 8.00am, after wash up.
i look through past program that i've created, do some last mins revision.

Half way through, Ernest woke up and ask " Jit, you wake up already a not ? " . For the instant i was stunt, after a glance at his face i broke into laughter. He's not fully awake yet.

Lab test was quite similar to the trail Lab test we had yesterday, got some minor problems but the program still able to run.

Next, had late breakfast at canteen1 with Yu Lun and Ernest.
Went back to bunk and rest till lunch time with the usuals.

APPG in the afternoon class and a recreational activity- basketball at near canteen2 !!
All of us 9 plus 2 more - Zhi Hui and Xing Rong, 11 broke into 3 teams and play till the sky turn dark, there's no lights at the basketball court unlike in Singapore, miss playing basketball in the night. Leaving with no choice, had to went for dinner at canteen2.

Came back from dinner, we decided to clean the apartment as the floor is covered with dust.
We done the standard procedeer - sweep then mop the floor.

We do like cleaniness and knows how to do households chores..
the broom was unexpected short for me...
got to bend lower than normal just to sweep the floor..
i want broom from SINGAPORE !!!

Today i woke up at 9.00am with the help of phone alarm clock.

We have an APPG trail lab test and it's a quite tricky one.

The lab test is about online notebooks ordering, it's quite fun actually, to design the user interface, write code to make the programe run to the requirement.
Today's lab test is a good check point to gauge myself so that i know which area i can go revise on. Morning class ended and it's time for lunch.

In the afternoon class, Mr Ma went through the answer for train lab test and then we had our own self revision.

Class ended and had dinner ar 7.00pm sharp.

I went to bed after some revsion, Lab Test at 9.00am tomorrow.

Wu Dang - Day 2
Woke up at around 6.00am because we're gonna gather at around 6.30am sharp
Today we'll be going up to Wu Dang Mountain !!

Mount WuDang
In years past, the mountains of Wudang were known for the many Taoist monasteries to be found there, monasteries which became known as an academic centre for the research, teaching and practise of meditation, Chinese martial art, traditional Chinese medicine , Taoist agriculture practises and related arts.

Zhang Shanfeng(张三丰), is the originator of Wudangquan generally and Tai ji Quan specifically. He was said to be inspired by a fight he witnessed between a pied magpie (also said to be a white crane) and a cobra. Wudangquan advocates the cultivation of morality and fostering of nature in conjunction with physical training.Wudang is often associated with swords. The sword techniques were again supposedly created by Zhang Sanfeng, and as with many arts associated with Wudang are based around internal and soft techniques, avoiding direct clashes with the opponent and instead relying on quickness and borrowing the opponent's power.

Even though the breakfast was simple and bit blend
we clear it all and still hungry.After breakfast, we're in need of toilet.
To avoid the Legend toilet in the hotel restaurant
the 9 of us went to a better hotel just behind the restaurant.

The moment we step into the lobby, we were like "WHOA !! "
and head straight to toilet.

The toilet was way lot BETTER than the hotel restaurant..
and best of all the toilet is sparkling clean !!
cause the cleaner just wash the place =)

Happily relieve ourselves and head back to the bus head toward WU DANG MOUNTAIN!!
during the ride, Jermey and i folded straw heart.
Straws in China are quite thick and its not easy to fold it.

The morning was great.
took this picture while walking to the cable car station.
The line was very very freaking LONG, we have queued for around 2hours..
regretted that we didn't walk up..
and miss the fun of it.

The locals have one common habit or should i say culture, that is to jump queue.
There two ladies cutting queue where Mr Chua was just right in front of them,
Mr Chua face changed and was piss off.
With the help from our tour guide.
She shouted " if everyone said that our tour group is in front
then there won’t be people queuing up! "
She also asked the guard to step in and get them back into the line.

We had our lunch at the nearby restaurant

Like always, we ate like theres tomorrow.

After lunch, we got to rush back to campus as the bus driver is in a rush of picking another group of people from the airport at around 10.30pm, it took 6-7 hours ride back to campus and the time now is 3.36pm.

The start of Torturing ride begins...
As usual most of us would falll asleep during the ride, and some would be taking photos of those who are sleeping.

As the sky turn darker, the night ride begin to get more entertaining and fun.
After the only toilet break at around 8.00pm sharp, we board back to the bus.

The driver switch on its Tv and the Mini KTV begins !! Woots!!
the 9 of us who occupied the back seats sang along as the Music Video play.
We sang almost all the songs it played, from more recent artist such as Jay Chou's song to those old classic songs.

Moreover, what make it more exciting is that the driver drove OPPOSITE direction of the road !!
He droved for more then 30mins in the opposite lane, and changed back to the right path when theres a cross junction.

To us this kind of action was unbelievable because drivers in Singapore would horn you till you turn deaf even if it's only one slow turn.

Despite the extra excitment that the driver gave us, we continue singing till we reach the campus and the driver 100% late for his nxt pick up.
Time when we reach school : 10.26pm

All of us were hungry and tired, and we went outside campus to buy dinner and take back to bunk.

Ate dinner, wash up and off to bed.

Wu Dang - Day1

Okay. Today was the only day that Ernest didn't wake me up this time and actual in fact i wake him up. yea~
The reason behind it was because.. i did not sleep throughout the night so that i can sleep during the torturing ride from campus to Wu Dang.
If my mum knows about it.. she will sure nag till my ears drop off.

After all the necessary are prepared, it time to head over to the meeting point to meet up with the rest of the ECE people and both lecturers.

Ride to Wu Dang begins, as well as the feeling of losing your lower body away to numbness.
My plan of sleeping during the ride was a successful one, only wake up for short toilet breaks.

The 6-7 hours of hell in the cramp seat bus, was finally over & the heavenly meal time ascend.
Everyone was famishing, we all always like those hungry ghost every meal time..

We hang around at the ticketing area for further instruction and some of us took some toilet break.

the ground is wet, a mixture of pee and pee, it's dark
and at any corner of the toilet you can just relive yourself even though there " peeing stand "
don't really know what is it called.

After we got our ticket, we took the bus up to the first destination, duration of the ride was 50 mins.
In that 50 mins, i feel that i'm in those kind of racing car games such as InitialD, the road was curvy, like Qiu Ming Shan in InitialD, the speed of the bus was fast and the ride is really quite fun.

Today was just a normal days without much happenings, walk to school with the usual, eat meals with them, doing APPG which make a hell out of me. Now the assignment (Lab4) is much tougher as compare to the previous 3 lab assignment. in the end i still manage to finish up the assignment with some help of friends and hand it up.

Time past so fast and its already time for dinner, we all had an early dinner.
Earlier dinner means will get hungry in the night..
but have no fear the bunk have already store up food to manage this kind of crisis.

The weather is unstable.. keep on changing.
one day hot and another day cold..
but still the tempreture here is still cooler then Singapore.

Another normal day.
Today we are having Appg as usual.

Done some enhancement on Lab4, slack a bit in class and listen to music till class end - 5pm.
Got some rest in the bunk before dinner, in canteen2, then we went out of campus to get snack for tomorrow trip, Mount WuDang.

We went to the usual breadshop to buy loaf of bread as breakfast tomorrow, sad to say, our favourite flavour " Red Bean Paste Bread " was sold out.

Special lecture again at 8am by the local lecturer, teaching us about business etiquette.
The do and don't when meeting up with a client and he share his own experience dealing business around the world with the class, which make the class more interesting.

After the morning class, it's time for lunch!

In the afternoon class, we had to summarise of what we learn in business etiquette and business strategies which the business strategies we had to go through it ourselves before we can start summaries.

Besides that, Mr Chua had gave us another assignment, that is to go to the electronics streets where it sells lots of electronic stuff such as computers and mp3 player.

there are familiars brands such as apples, dell, hp

these electronic here are expensive as compared to Singapore
this is due to the import tax impose on the goods.

so we decided to take the mini van back..
however the charge for one van of 7 seater cost 70 yuan.
OhmyGod! freaking expensive..
but we were smart enough not to take the mini van because the hippie driver is a CON MAN!!!
he keep saying that it cost 70 yuan because it need 2 and a half hours to our destination
and keep giving nonsense
where if we take the bus ride back to campus it only cost 2 yuan
and took around an hour to reach

As it was getting late so leaving with no choice we had to take the public bus back
where it will be very squeezy

For dinner we had it in the school
canteen2.
we had ordered ' Zhu Chao ' (煮炒)
the food was quite tasty
rice is FREEFLOW!!
and its cheap!!
i will really miss the meal time when i get back to Singapore..
Food back there are expensive and
NO FREE FLOW OF RICE!!

whoa. Got to wake up real early for a mini excursion to the " Wuhan Iron and Steel Corp" for a visit and see the process of iron / steel making.

By the way, got to thanks Ernest to wake me up...

We took a hour bus ride to to main branch of Wuhan University where is more urbanise with more shops and fun, to meet up with the other group. As usual, the seat, which is the most torturing part for me in this OIP trip. Both of my legs are numb again...

After reaching the industrial area, railways track are a common scene, they are like everywhere. This railways are for the raw material and processed end product to be import and export to the market by trains and of course the air was badly polluted.

The only thing that we saw when we went in was a red hot molten iron bar , it was so hot that even we are a few distance away, we still can feel the scorching heat..
The process from the hot molten thick steel bar to a long solidify steel strip was quite facinating and the noise produce was very very loud. After i went out of the place, i was particailly deaf. Just wonder how did those worker endured the loud noises and work there for years, i assume that some of them might have hearing problems or already deaf.

The visit was ended and it was really a mini one, it only last less than an hour, and i was thinking those long toruring traveling time i have gone through isit worth it?
Well, though most of the people would say it's not but i think it worth it.
It a good learning visit although it last less than an hour, it quite an interesting in compare to a normal one hour lecture where there's a high chance i would fall asleep.

It's quite disappointing that the process of making and transporting it was all automated, i was hoping to see some olden days style of steel making which is totally impossible.

Time to head back to campus.
During the ride, many of us fall asleep.
But theres a change of plan, Mr Chua let us have some free time at the " Lu Xiang Guan Chang " before the class which will start at 3pm rather then the usual 2pm.
The main issue was not this, infact it was the driver took 3 hours reach " Lu Xiang Guan Chang ", where earlier on the trip from our campus to the main branch university and to the industry took only two hours.

The usuals had decided to had lunch at canteen2 and 1APPG at 3pm.

A little recreation time after class, a game of basketball and then head for dinner at canteen2 too.

the rest of us will be the 'sea weed'
at the back swaying from left to right and right to left
and sing along.
Despite the embarasment, all of us are having a great time.

Theres another part of the night which i like
it would be the moment when Mr Chua and a local teacher from
Foreign Language School
(where our classroom is located at)
both of them sang
'Peng You' (Friends) by Zhou Hua Jian
we went up there as a big group and surround both teachers
both arms on shoulders of friends
singing along.

The Interaction Night was thus declared ended.

Departure of the Three Gorges

Woke up early in the morning
hope will be able to see the sun rise but sad to say that
today when i open my eyes
the cruise already stopped at the dock
the only thing i saw was other cruise beside ours and the sun have not rise yet.

Until breakfast time while having those unfilling simple dishes as breakfast
Randolf told me that the view outside is nice.
It's a pity that camera was not with us.

VIP card
After breakfast, the tour guide came to collect the room key and VIP card from us
feel so good to be entitled as VIP.
Actually there's no huge difference of being VIP
Rice still can be refilled as many time as we want.

Anyway having fun is the most important part
who would still bother if you're a VIP or not when having fun

After boarding off the cruise
it's time for the torturing 7hours ride back to school
the most torturing part for me in China.
Everytime after a long hours ride on the bus
both leg feel numb and the space to adjust my leg are VERY LIMITED
can i rent away some length of my leg whenever theres a bus ride?
sleep all the way throughout the ride.

Finally after the long hours ride
we reached school
had lunch at the usual canteen2
slack at bunk
waiting for dinner time.

Someone suggested to have fish ball at Nan Yang again
this will be the second time going there for dinner.

After a 5 mins walk to a row of fish ball restaurant
i suggested that why not we try the ' zi cha' round the restaurant
which Mr Ma said that it quite nice.
So we walk a bit further in
it seems that theres restaurant does not have much customers and they will try to pull you into their restaurant
but after much consideration and the final decision made was to went back to the original plan to have our dinner at Nan Yang Fish Ball Restaurant.

Had a fullful dinner.
Like always, rice is refilled again and again
we always carried this motto when having meal:
" Just Wack la!! "
Eat like there's no tomorrow
alot of people in other part of the world don't even have food to eat
it's a fortune to be able to eat.

it was quite surprise that i could meet him on this trip
and of course will be sawing him often on other trips as well.

though our apartment are better them them
and since they are nearer to the city area which means that
they have more things to play!!

At around 10am sharp we are to transfer to another tour boat to explore Sheng Nong stream.

Shen Nong Stream is a tributary of Yangtze River, it's located in the Hubei Province of central China.
Ever since the beginning of the construction of the Three Gorges Dam downstream on the Yangtze, the water level has risen approximately 155 meters at the mouth of Shen Nong Stream.
The lower reaches of the Shen Nong Stream are presently a torpidly flowing river, most of whose previously scenic vertical gorges is now submerged.

Everyone was quite excited as there will be a lot of sight seeing and a step closer to nature.

We are fortunate that we are staying in Singapore with better education and we should cherish it

FRIDAY!!!

(no lesson, but need to wake up very early...)
The most interesting HIGH light of this immersion trip!!
A 3 days 2 night trip to... THE THREE GORGES!!

At 8am, we set off to to the World's LARGEST HYDROELECTRICITY DAM !!
everyone on the bus were pretty sleepy...

After visiting the dam, we got to move on to had our dinner before going to the curise

during the bus ride back to the restaurant, our guide sang to us local dialect song.

Some time later, the night become more and more quiet.

We talk until the cruise stopped, and found out that we reach the first gate of the lock.

As usual.. Ernest woke me up again..
taking the usual path to school with the usuals attending the usual lessons with unusually happenings.
it's amazingly fun, joke and laughter warmed up the cold air when hanging out with the usuals.

He released us eariler to prepare for the interaction with the local students :

As usual.. got lesson from 9am till 5pm.
but today Mr Chua release us earlier to rest for the upcoming weekend trip to the Three Gorges.

since Ernest has been pestering me that he want to buy a duffer bag.. so to ensure his safety..
i accompany him.
we went to 鲁汉广场.
both of us were been STRONGLY encourage to board on the mini taxi van because in the van there's already three guys who is going to 鲁汉 and thus will bring us directly to our destination for 2 yuan which is the same fare as the public bus.

Half way through, the driver pick up a lady and was charged for 3 yuan, after knowing that the driver only charge both of us of 2 yuan each, she start quarreling with the driver for over 1 yuan.
during the quarrel, idioms were been use during that period.
Ernest bought a Dakine bag for 167 Rmb and head over to the Adventure shop (TraceBoard) there which is so much similar to those in Singapore such as Campers Corner & Adventure21.
On the shop window of TraceBoard there a sticker ' GOR-TEX ' both Ernest and i were quite excited when we saw that sticker so we rush in to check it out.
we comb the shop for international Gor-tex brand we hope to see but.... only china brand..
i bought a water bottle (500ml) for 64 yuan and was given discount because i joined their life time membership, thinking that we may went back to that shop again to buy some adventure stuff.

Time for dinner!!
we took bus 903 back to campus to meet up with the usual.
during the ride back to campus, we got to be alert for pickpocket as our valuables might get stolen without knowing.
body contact was quite inevitable because of the crowd, i feel like a real sardine in the can as it is really pack worst then taking the MRT or walking along Orchard in Singapore.
the lucky thing is that, due to my height, i'm able to breath some fresh air in the crowded bus.

As for dinner we went to the nearby restaurant, NanYang Fishball Restaurant, for a fabulous meal.
the main course, fishball steamboat, was the best.
the fish ball was made totally out of real fish with only starch to make the meat together.
it was quite soft compared to those fishball we ate normally in Singapore.
we also ordered some dishes too, rice bowl were been refilled 3-4 times.
had fulfill dinner and the bill was cheap - 100 Rmb
the owner gave us a 9 Rmb discount so that we have good impression of the restaurant, and will go back to eat again.

Reflection:
Observed that even when quarreling with others, idioms were being use during the conversations which cant be seen in Singapore.
So to promote better chinese education or bring our Mother Tongue up to a higher level , we should try to use idioms in conversation even when quarreling with one another.

Its rare to see some dishes which are not spicy and hot, which i think that spicy and hot spices are to heat up the body tempreture in this cold climate.

8am that the time i need to wake up..
Ernest woke me up with all noises he made... again..
the ring tone of my alarm clock is far way nicer the din he made..
drag myself off the bed.. wash myself up and off for breakfast!!

As usual, we went to canteen1, we ordered buns and some ' dim sum ' for breakfast,
the usual peeps bought hot soya milk which is real pipping HOT !!
both Ernest and i ordered hot tea instead.

another fun day programming, though it quite confusing but it's quite easy to get the hang of it.

one is for recyclable waste
another is for non-recycle waste
although this is the only place i saw these kind of bin
but at lest this university try to save the environment.
